Title Page INDUCTION

Meaning fails with the first word. We struggle against all odds, seeking a small or grand measure of Life (depending on temperament, or choice of method). We grow a tangle of metaphor. We see a glimmer of Light. We fade with darkness. We die.

A trace of our being remains. Is our Line through Time. The Poet is the One who teaches us to look beyond the denslty of coding that is embedded In our Tongue, and to draw on the spirit that rests in a deeper place. A place of vision where words divorce themselves from structure and act as direct image-bearers of the Soul.

Ratio.3 is metaphor. It speaks beyond barriers of language structured for the merely functional world we dally in-habit. It is an experiment, as is all Life. It evolves, elicits contact, and transmits.

Ratio:3 is compiled without direction, interference, or fore-knowledge of its content. Only gentle coaxing and the act of letting go. A series of correlative events formulating a single chapter, or volume.

Three Poets, three visions, three voices. Each distinctive, each attuned to the real reality of existence.

Ira Cohen, London c1991Ira Cohen, traveller: mercurial indeed, a true Hermetic without whom the connections would not be made. Angus MacLise:exiled from this world, but transmitting still, sending out his unique frequency that acts as a Seal between two discrete hemispheres. Gerard Malanga: master of the infinite moment, creator of inner space, stillness within the ceaseless urban squall. Three friends whose lives in-twine.

Ratio:3 transmits through us, all ways, always. We turn on and tune in. Each message is personal. Each glimmer of understanding a piece in an endless and endlessly changing dance of perception. Hang on to nothing. Let the images have their way, become entranced by their magick. and follow your Bliss.
